I watched him on You Tube in "touch fighting" and kick boxing and he seems to be afraid to get hit. His defense is good but it's more of a way of avoiding punishment than it it moving in a strategic fashion to set up his next shot. He's kind of an ambush fighter with the flash and angles etc. but you can only go so far with that kind of fighting. Even his punches are loopy and weak and his punch technique doesn't look solid. His arms have little musculature and are just plain weak. MMA fighters, at least the successful strikers all have powerfully built arms and that helps them defend the ground and pound and constant tussling that is part of the sport. Daniels is only 20 granted and he can learn over the next few years but this arse-kicking was brutal. He's a cocky punk and he really had this coming. I really think the best fighters are superior strikers with a knowledge of some other kind of art like jujitsu or wrestling or in Cung Le's case Sanshou that involves flips, trips and throws. JUST striking JUST doesn't work... |
