My five takeaways from the Western Conference event are:
- Jason Bourelly and Raymond Daniels of LA were exceptional as usual, each scoring two knockouts
- Colby Snyder of Denver knocked out Jack Felton (the first time Felton had been knocked out in the WCL)
- Donald Vickers of LA was disqualified of an illegal punch in the second round
- Thomas Longacre of Oklahoma beat Shannon Hudson twice despite Hudson's promise on this board to knock out Longacre
- The crowd was sensational at this event, they love their team and the WCL in general |

great job to both fighters, but i think the only reason you tied was BECAUSE you got the standing 8 count. No disrespect but i believe that lawson rocked you for 3 minutes. if it wasnt for that standing 8 then i think that you would have lost. _________________ wcllover |

patrick smith got the standing eight count. if a fighter gets a standing eight count then the only way the round should be a tie, is if the fighter gives his opponent a standing eight count also. patrick smith did not knock me down and i didn't get an eight count. so what's up with the judges scoring?
thanks for the link on youtube PJ. |

You are right. But did you really actually hurt him. it looked like you tapped him out of the ring. I was sitting pretty far back at the fights and i couldnt see too well but i watched the fight on you tube and from that view it just looked liked you tapped him. i think it was a good fight, but i dont think you fought him with as much power as you could have. it looked like he had the fight until he fell out of the ring. But i always could be wrong. Keep in mind i'm just a fan not a fighter. _________________ wcllover |

if you think he was getting the better of me then that is your opinion, and that's cool. i hurt him with an uppercut that actually sent him back, i talked to him later and he agreed. i was never hurt by any of his punches and not even the headkick he landed. i looked at the youtube clip and i threw a right and then a left....and he fell/slipped out of the ring.
if a fighter gets hit and falls down, even if he is a little off balance then it is a knockdown. the fighter should be in better balance. also if a ref stops the action and gives an eight count, the judges cannot ignore it. in boxing, it would be an automatic 10-8 round.
i still don't know why it was a tie. unless people and the judges thought he was REALLY kicking my butt the whole time. i don't feel he was. i thought it was a pretty close fight without the knockdown. but with it i should win.
i hope you enjoyed the show. |

Lawson, you know the judges in Oklahoma suck. Come on they called my fight with Jesse Lawrence a draw. He didn't even want to engage. I don't think he landed anything. Maybe they need to require eye exams to the officials and the fighters before the fights. I can't wait to get a copy of the show and critique their judgement. I think Dale Cook being the Destroyer coach had alot of impact on the judges scores. I also thought that if you dropped your opponent no matter what you win the round 10-8. But since he was winning the round before the knockdown, I could see calling it 10-9. But you definately hurt him with the uppercut and that is what made him lose balance. And it seems that the later part of the round is most important in the judges eyes. |
