Neither Connors or Felton should either be considered WCL fighters. Chuck intended the WCL to be a FULL THROTTLE, NON-STOP, FIGHT!!!!!!!!!! This run, gun, point fighting is really starting to get on my nerves. I know all you people are so in love with these point fighters who dance around and score alot of points. Yeah sure they may score more points, but the fights are terrible to watch. Neither Felton or Connors are man enough to stand in front of Longacre and FIGHT! When one of you are ready please LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!

Connors is not a pointfighter and his style is very different than that of Felton. Both guys handily beat Longacre. Connors and Felton are two of the premiere fighters in the league and to question their status as WCL fighters is just silly.

These guys play by the rules and are exciting to watch, they should be considered WCL fighters just like Longacre.

Also, I do not think fights with pointfighters are terrible to watch. In fact, generally speaking, I'd say pointfighters like Daniels and Bourelly are the most exciting to watch.

So did this fight never happen?

Boxing: Jose Luis Gonzalez (Garden City, KS) def Tim Connors (St. Louis, MO) in the 6th round by KO.

I think this is what Hurricane was referring to, though it's not kickboxing. It can be found at: http://www.shamrockpromotionsllc.com/

Scroll down. I think the fight occurred on the 14th of May.

Sorry about taking so long to post! I don't know if you still remember your commment about me after you got beheaded by Oxley! I'm sure things are a little foggy for you. Did your mouth piece actually "fly" out of your mouth. I just want to get my facts correct. You first "lose" a boxing match and then you have your head handed to you in the WCL. I think I'm pretty much organized now. Word of advice from a fan with no fight experience ( keep those hands up).!!!!!! Hope to see ya soon. Maybe you won't be on your back

Well you guys are right. Tim Connors does not kick much. He does have good power because I have seen when you uses them, but considering he is primarily a boxer he does not use legs often. Besides, he has no sport karate experience and if you have done this style of fighting you know sport karate teaches you how to use your kicks very well. Lets be honest WCL is really Sport Karate mixed with full contact. My instructor always said if you can win with a punch ok. If you can win with a spin hook kick, great!! After all, if you do not provide a show for the spectators they will move on to something else. Whenever you can be flashy and win that is always the way to go.
By the way David "The Butcher" Wilson is the best fighter in Chicago.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Are you trying to say Tim Connors is a point fighter and is afraid to go toe to toe with a traditinoal boxer/kickboxer??

I'm sorry but i think your way off base. Tim Connor is traditionally a full-contact fighter. This is why he is a pro boxer.

Rick Roufus did do well crossing over. Sport Karate did get watered down quite some time ago. There was only a few that kept it tough. Guys like Scorpion Burrage and David "The Butcher" Wilson(late 80's and all of the 90's). They emphasized as much full contact as possible with the little gloves they wore. If you get taught properly in Sport Karate you can transition quite well. Unfortunately, I could count the number of fighters on 1 hand that can teach it properly.

Surprised

sport karate has been watered down. They are going back to the furture with the "superfights" thing.( which is what should have been sport karate all along") Jack's out of the Jeff Smith school of karate and was trained by his nephew Darren growing up and has spent some time with Jeff as an adult. Jeff (Mr. Smith to us) gave Jack his third degree not too long ago.
