Someone explain why would you take a loss just because your team was up in points? How many rounds did Oxley train to fight for if he was so tired after 1 round?

You wouldn't. Miami was up by more than 15 points so even if Oxley had been knocked out Miami would have still won. Taking the loss for his team is an excuse that does not make sense. I hope it's like Bigj said and he was just having trouble facing a fresh fighter. The fans don't want to see fighter lay off, we want to see KNOCKOUTS (like the Oxley vs. Connors fight).

First off I never said that Oxley thru the fight, so don't put words in my mouth.....you may have assumed that is what I meant, but you know the old saying about assumptions! All I said is what I heard "get your hands up and move" Oxley had been caught by Connors the Force was way ahead so its understandable. If you were at the fights (which you were Mr. Martin) you could see Oxley didn't "lay off", my point with that was that he didn't get beat handily. PERIOD!!!
I agree with bigj you go thru a war with the likes of Connors its hard to go against a fresh fighter with a completely different style the next round.

I'm not really sure how you saying that you heard his "coaches telling him to lay off .." (look at your post YOU posted "lay off") is making a point in explaining that Oxley was not beat handily. I already explained the handily comment, but if I had known you were going to get so defensive about it I would have just said that Gruebel was the clear winner.

Look, Oxley is a great fighter, he has knocked out both Connors and Bourelly, that should speak for itself.

I'll give respect and props to Oxley for his performance and success. Oxley is certainly due credit for the KO of Connors who has been the top fighter in the weight class. My comments were to southpaw's statement
You could hear his coaches telling him to lay off and move, not to go in for the finish. Its a team sport and Oxley did what was best for his team.
You can call it something else but that sounds like throwing the fight to me. If anyone has discredited Oxley in our posts its southpaw for suggesting Oxley backed off. WCLfan, you have likewise discredited him by also suggesting he backed off.
had the score been close...."GOOD NIGHT GRUEBEL," would have hit the canvas!!
I'll give Oxley more respect and believe that he fought hard to the end.

As far as Greubel goes, I am a fan. I've seen him several times over that least few years, think highly of him and choose to root for him. I gave Oxley the benefit of the doubt after bigj's post because he fought a fresh fighter in Greubel. The answer to your question WCLfan
Whos Grubel??
, is this, he's the new fighter who beat Oxley in Oxley's second fight of the night.

Poor word choice on my part, and for that I apologize. My intentions were never to imply that Oxley threw the fight as I said, nor were they to discredit Gruebel. I agree that he is starter caliber, just not over Connors. He came in with a good game plan and he executed it,

Sounds like these were some good fights. Anybody know when and where the next Eastern Conference Event is going to be? It still says TBD on the schedule page.
