The recent event in San Antonio raises some questions for me as a fan. The Oklahoma Destroyers are in control of there match with the Stars, up by 20 points at half. Then 3 of the Oklahoma leaders dont show for the second half only to watch their team go down in flames! Coach Cook says this was not a coaching move, but rather Jeri, Thomas, and Jesse didnt want to fight the second half.
I was thinking is there another sport where the faces of the team or the captains dont want to finish the game or match? Farve ever just sit out a second half of a playoff game? Kobe ever not want the last shot in a game? Makes you wonder if these fighter really even care if they win or loose. Maybe just putting on a show and collecting a paycheck is good enough. The WCL is a new league and the last thing they need in season 2 is a lack of hungry fighters. If the WCL is just a martial arts show/demonstration i guess i understand, but this is marketed as a teams striving to win the rings at the end of the year. I enjoy a good sports event and i love competition, but i cant stand being duped or put on. Is the WCL a sport or just a show?
I hope this is the exception not the rule. Because like the Destroyers in the WCL will flame out if this isnt fixed. |

This definately a sport....as far as some fighters not wanting to continue then they should not be in the WCL... This is a team sport when ur knocked down you need to get back up. Its not only for your self but most importantly for your team! I know personally every fighter on the NY CLASH is hungry to fight. We have the heart, talent and the determination to win the championships. The other teams I can not speak for but NY CLASH is the true meaning of a hungry team with great coaching... Thank you Mr. Conroy for everything. TRAIN HARD WIN EASY |

4 SURE THIS IS A SPORT.. I AM ONE THAT KNOWS PERSONALLY CAUSE MY KIS IS LEO VALDIVIA FROM NEW YORK CLASH. LEO AND HIS TEAM WORK TOGETHER AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO WIN! LEO KNOCKED OUT HIS FIGHTERS IN HIS LAST FIGHTS AT 164 LBS. BUT COACH CONROY ASKED HIM TO MOVE UP AGAIN FOR THE CONFERENCE FINALS CAUSE 164 WAS NJ WEEK SPOT AND HE NEEDED LEO TO HOLD STRONG FOR 178. LEO DIDNT CARE ABOUT THAT HE WOULD HAVE KILLED BOTH FIGHTERS 4 NJ AND MADE MORE MONEY. THE TEAM AND HIS COACH CAME FIRST. |

It sounds like at least one team is committed to get the rings and proove this is a legit sport. Coach Cook may need to go to New York to recruit some fighters that really want to win. With the kinds of attitudes that are on the Clash I wish them all the luck. Maybe the hunger will spread through the league. |
