It seems that the format of the WCL has changed this year. Originally it was a team of 6 fighters that would fight 2 rounds, this year it seems it is a team of 12 fighters fighting one round each. I understand the need for an alternate fighter in the case of a knockout, cut, or injury, but these substitutions seem to be pre-decided regardless of situation.

Who decides the substitutions and why are they so much more frequent this year?

I cant wait for the Tulsa event. The Destroyers are on fire and looking like they can win it all!!

This year it is a twelve man affair! The coach makes the decision at halftime which fighter will come out in the second half. If a fighter is a bad match up for his opponent and the second has a better chance, or if the starter is too hurt or tired from the first bout, the coach can fight the alternative fighter. This gives the crowd "in most cases" a better action packed fight. It also makes the starter fight hard in order to get to fight again. Picking good alternate fighters is important for the team!

I agree with steam, i fell like some of the alternates are better fighters than the starer. So being used will give them the chance to show it.

As a fan I like that they mix up the starters and alternates. Gives us a chance to see what they are all made of. It probabaly makes it harder to build up the starters for TV etc. if they are switched around too much? There are certainly some of the starters that the fans like to see more of.

I had the opportunity to see the Atlantic City event this past Dec. (live and in person) and I thought it was an exciting event, better than I had imagined. A few friends of mine in Texas witnessed the early show in San Antonio with NJ versus St. Louis and Miami versus NY. They agreed that it was very entertaining and exciting to watch. Apparently the women really got the crowd going too, or maybe it was just my friends who were getting excited about the women? I was sorry I missed it.

Looking forward to the Oklahoma event...
