| Why are elbows not allowed in the WBC? They are a vital part of a striker's arsenal. |

I'm not familiar with the WBC.
As for the WCL, I'm not 100% sure why they don't allow them, but I think they are trying to market this as a more 'mainstream' or even a 'family friendly-er' version of contact sports. Generally speaking, elbows tend to cut while fists produce KOs. Personally, I'd like to see the WCL include elbows and let the MT guys really get the job done, but I don't think they are heading in that direction. At least they alow knees now, but without a clinch it makes them harder to land. _________________ -Valiss |

It really is a shame that they don't allow elbows. The elbow is a very efficient weapon.
I can see where they are coming from PR wise - they want to make it family-friendly... but really, if one looks at the demographic, they would agree that this is a sport not frequented by too many 5 year olds.
Additionaly, children/youths are quite desensitised to violence these days. Im not saying this is necessarily a positive thing.... but a fact of life.
I know the rules prob wont change - but as a fighter... it would be ideal _________________ "Praise be to the God of my strength,
