I've been waiting for them to have a match is CA too. I mean they have a team in LA so you would think eventually they would do one there...

I hope so. I think they would have a good crowd here.

Not only does LA have a huge crowd, but it also happens to have the best team in the league. WCL does next to zero advertising in CA outside of the Versus Network. But if they gave real media blitz and brought some fights here, it could take off.

The cost for events like this in CA is rediculous. The only way would be to put it on a reservation.

I still don't see an issue with coming to CA. Many of the MMA fights here in CA are on reservations, so there are plenty around that are willing to host. Moreover, there isn't any laws that prohibit MMA in any arena and lots of MMA events where I live are hosted at the local community cente, high school gym, etc. I honestly belive that if the WCL wanted to have an event in CA that they could pull it off.

That said, I'm not implying that doing an event in CA won't be more expensive than say Tulsa. But it's important to note that you don't need to have it at some huge arena/stadium.

Very true. I go watch alot of WBC Muay Thai events that are held in local casinos in LA or in smaller venues than that.

I know I definitely would like to see the WCL here in LA or anywhere here in So Cal. Aside from LA being the best team in the league, this city has been such a major part of Chuck Norris’ life and history. His acting and martial arts careers, his schools, his fighters, his fighting systems are all part of LA history.

I think bringing some WCL events here could bring some star power and publicity to the promotion. A lot of celebrities love going to fights and where celebrities go the media goes. No offense to Tulsa but I think there’s a hell of a lot better chance of having some recognizable faces show up to an event in So Cal or Las Vegas than Tulsa.

I can understand the cost factor of holding an event at a major sports venue like Staples Center or The (Great Western) Forum or LA Memorial Sports Arena, etc. But there are a lot of other less expensive [but equally nice] venues here. Lots of sporting events are held at some of the local Indian casinos or how about maybe holding it at a college/university sports complex.

UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion for example can hold more than twice as many people as Tulsa’s Expo Square Pavilion and a little over 1,100 more seats than San Antonio’s Freeman Coliseum. Not saying that every seat would be sold out at Pauley Pavilion but it a nice place to hold a show just a thought. Another nice venue is the Shrine Auditorium which has hosted MMA and other events, it seats about 6,300.
