I like this team. They look like they have the talent. Most of them look like point fighters. When they learn how to kickbox they will be much tougher.
I believe James Decore has fought at my tournaments before. Is he from the Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky area? I believe he used to fight at PKC events in those states.
I believe he won the PKC KY State Championships when he was younger.
The Woolum girl I believe could take Santiago if given a rematch and her coach could correct her mistakes. The coach has to do a better job preparing his fighters through film study, basic fundementals and how to use the rules to their advantage. Everytime Woolum seem to start landing some good powerful punches and have Santiago winded the ref would step in and call time. Again, this ref changed the outcome of some of these fights by his constant interruption of the fights. |

Well I only saw Decor fight once, when his team fought Houston. He was matched with Thompson. Let's just say it didnt go well for him. |

Decore was the fighter in the 185 lb weight class. Felton was the 147 lb fighter in Austin. |

I think felton is the sleeper, did anybody watch the vids. I wonder what the kickboxers think and their thoughts on what the pointfighters have to do to adapt. |

These fights did not impress me at all.
Santiago vs. ???? was the best match by far.
The one guy who has the large tatoo on his back was a terrible matchup. It will not help the WCL's image of putting out of shape fighters on national television. You have to matchup the best of the best or fans will start losing interest.
The first fights in Dallas was much better and had better technique. Even though it looked like a full contact point match it was some exciting fights.
Most of the fights in Conn. looked like a bunch of streetfighters who could punch and throw knees.
Event #1....Dallas = A-
Event #2....Conn.= D+
The girls fights are much more exciting than the guys. Santiago is a 5'2 pit bull. I hope Decore and Woolum continues to fight. They both have talent and a desire to win. I believe if someone helps Decore get away from his point karate mentality that he could be a great WCL fighter. He has it all but lacks full contact experience. Woolum will give it her all everytime she is in the ring. She just needs to develope some kicks and kick defense.
Again the refs are helping Santiago. She is a master at how to attack after the break. She gets off very quick and her opponents need to step back and learn to side step and counter after the break. She is dominating with this point karate strategy....Attack first.
Overall, I am still going to watch the WCL. I hope they just really taka a look at their talent. An event like last night will not help this league grow. |

I think this is the initial run. Since we've been involved we have seen the athletes and the product improve. I think it will snowball. As the WCL gets more exposure it will draw better athletes, produce better product, gain more interest, get more exposure, recruit more and better martial artists etc and continue to get to the point where it will give the mma a run for it's money.
However whoever is marketing the WCL is suspect to me. No bio's on the site yet, no develoment of story lines yet, lots of other things but I'm with you if they had some of the other rounds in the can I would have skipped this one. |

Just to piggy back off what coach said
Alicia Ashley had to take a boxing world title fight that was unfortunately scheduled the weekend after the WCL championship in Tulsa
This was a opportunity she had to take as title shots don't grow on tree.
Watching her fight in the WCL Ashley definitely brings world class boxing skills to the table _________________ To subscribe to the WCL TurfWars magazine, please email following information to getturfwars@worldcombatleague.com 1. Jessica Covarrubias and Tara Van Deusen will be the two female fighters for L.A. Stars, the roster is up-to-date on the website. But i was really looking forward to see Alicia fight with Santiago, two of the best female fighters in WCL. I guess we will have to wait for long time before there is another opportunity for them to fight each other. |

If Santiago is even able to fight. She left San Antonio during the intermission in an abulance. Something about her back. Haven't heard a word on how she is doing. What a shame, Ashley not there, and possably Santiago not there either. |
