I formed the World Combat league to fulfill a vision I have long held of elevating Combat Martial Arts to a professional city versus city, team versus team sport, not unlike the NBA or NFL.

But, there is another important reason I formed the League that I would like to share with you.

While I wanted to create a vehicle for championship caliber martial artists to make a living pursuing their sport, I also wanted to create a mechanism to support the expansion of my foundation, both nationally and internationally. Proceeds from World Combat League go to support my character-building, life-skills nonprofit foundation, KickStart, the League’s official charity. Created in 1992, teaching martial arts to 150 public middle school children in Houston as part of their PE curriculum, “KickStart” now serves more than 5,000 youngsters year round at 35 schools in Dallas and Houston. To date, KickStart has worked with more than 40,000 at risk kids, with many going on to college and careers and becoming successful members of their community.
