Burst: A sudden outbreak or explosion. That’s the way the dictionary defines the term. But, for boxing and martial arts fans, it’s those fleeting moments in a fight when the combatants are completely engaged, trying to impose their will and take each other out. It’s what fight fans pay their money to see, but the action they are so often denied.
But no more.
I'm happy to report that the World Combat League has finally burst upon the weekly television sporting event scene. Every Thursday evening at 11:00 P.M. Eastern Time on the VERSUS Cable Television Network sports fans everywhere can catch the non-stop, full-throttle, team against team action that has made the World Combat League the talk of the martial arts world.
Unlike other forms of professional fighting, in WCL there is no wrestling or grappling. Each team member only fights a three minute match in each half of the contest. They must really “let it fly” in order to earn as many points for their team as possible. The result is heart-pounding Combat Martial Arts fighting, combined with the thrill of cheering for your favorite team and following their progress throughout an entire league season. To ensure the action, WCL rules penalize clinching, stalling, or anything that slows the pace and is considered by the referee as “passivity.” Another groundbreaking aspect of the WCL is that each six member team features one woman competitor. Several of these woman Combat Martial specialists are already emerging as stars in the league.
Now, you can enjoy the unbelievable athleticism and non-stop excitement that our league provides. Tune in this week and see for yourself – the future of combat martial arts has arrived. You'll be glad you did.
