Man, that was a good match last night! There were some real nice KOs. I hope air some new ones; it looks like the rest of the lineup for this month on Versus is all reruns.... |

One thing that was shocking to me last night was seeing Bourelly get knocked out. That dude looked unbeatable in Austin... |

Houston beat LA. Thompson had two KO's. The first KO was AWESOME. Jennifer Santiago also had a cool KO. |

What was cool about Santiago's knockout? What round? I'll catch it on replay. |

Santiago's KO was in her second match. You will have to see it, the match only lasted about 15 seconds. I remember seeing a highlight of it, but can't find it. The Thompson KO is on the Versus website. If you want to see the scores by match go to the box scores by event section. |

Santiago won her first half match against Angie Woolum handily (16-13) and knocked her out about 15 seconds into her second half match (15-0). There is a highlight of the KO (and several other KO's) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEf8cRicJME. |

Also, Stephen Thompson did not disappoint. All in all I'd say it was a good card; there was some blood, KOs, and even a warning to the coach from the ref! |

Normally, I hate the refs becoming part of the action, but in this case I was glad to see the ref call out the coach because I do not want to see coaches politicking for calls. Ray Thompson looked like a whiny basketball coach. I was glad to see the ref put him in line.
I did not see any coach whining in Austin at the finals, so it must have worked... |

I don't understand why some had to fight twice. I am just following it by the net. The V Channel doesn't list any of the fights thats scheduled for replay. When is the next replay supposed to take place? This sounds like something that could really be popular. |

I think you will find the answer to most of your questions at http://www.worldcombatleague.com/rules.html, but I will try and answer them. The WCL is a team sport consisting of 5 males and 1 female in different weight classes on each team. Each fighter fights two three minute rounds, one round in the first half and one round in the second half. If a fighter get KO’d or cannot continue, an alternate will replace them in the second half match. The Versus channel lists the team match-ups and the fighters for each team are listed at http://www.worldcombatleague.com/teams.html. Since this is the first season the fighters and teams have moved around a little so you will not get an exact line-up by looking at the teams (but it is a start). The Versus schedule shows that the Houston Enforcers vs. LA Stars re-play is on Tuesday at 6 pm Eastern time. If you want to know exactly who is fighting you can look at the ‘box scores by event’ section on this board. I think you will understand the sport a lot better once you watch the event on Versus. |
