lol me too. Say what you will jack only scratch was from a head butt and the holding i saw was after jack hit him with a lead left and a right and got tangled up. man if jack ran so much how come they gave up on longacre and didn't send him out for round two. if he wasn't hurt the way you guys say he was. doesn't make any sense not to send out your go to guy when you're down and not out of the match...lol man you people aren't old enough evidently to remember the critism
ali took for not getting into a slug fest. lol Thomas who lost humbly, did not answer the bell for the second round either he was hurt or they lacked confidence in him either way he was beat fair and square. Ray is Jack's training partner and they do the same stuff...get over it. jack's fight didn't look much different than Sante's and Rawlings. jack did most of the attacking and Thomas did most of the catching all thomas did was try to wade in which isn't going to happen

Harleygirl-

If you are insinuating that Longacre would have won the fight if not for poor officiating, you are wrong. Felton won the fight convincingly.

As far as the officiating, I am saying that it is quite possible there would have been a different outcome had the ref's called the holding and the running. When Longacre was able to rundown Felton, Longacre hit him with several good shots. Felton's lead in was a sloppy one two then a clinch up without any follow up shots. He looked like he was hanging on for dear life. After the axe kick in the last minute, Longacre was a little dazed. However, the first two minutes were Longacre chasing Felton.

As far as not coming out, I heard in the interviews after the first fight, that Longacre was ready to come out in the 2nd. There's a lot of speculation on why Edwards came out for Longacre in the second. Oh well, I hear there will be a rematch soon.

Felton may have his own unique style, including "dancing," running, evading, whichever verb you want to use (in your comparison of Felton's style to Ali's....k? Confused ), but that doesn't go with the whole idea encircling WCL - Full Throttle Action. Something that is not apparent in Felton's style. This same style was seen in the Bourelly fight & the Daniels fight. Maybe it should be called Full Throttle Evading Action. It can be called the World Evading Combat League!

Being the person that I am, just thought I'd throw out some WCL "FACTS" to back up my thoughts. The following is straight from the WCL rules page. ENJOY!

Penalized actions

• No Clinching- Intentionally tying-up the opponent's arms in an effort to stop them from punching.
• No Holding- Grabbing the opponent's body in an effort to stop them from attacking or countering.
• No Stalling- Intentionally delaying the action of a contest in any way.
• No Passivity- Retreating or circling without striking - or fighting only when the opponent attacks.

World Combat League athletes are well-conditioned, exciting professional CMA (Combat Martial Arts) fighters. In an effort to encourage consistent "full throttle" fighting action, our team presentation only requires each athlete to compete in two, three minute fights with a significant rest period in between. This allows them to fight at a pace unprecedented in combat sports. No "sticking and moving," no "jab and grab," just "pedal to the metal" fighting action.

Seems like part of the LA Team must have been absent when this was talked about......

Even the judge's scoring system and the referee's penalty point system is designed to reward this "full throttle" style of fighting and penalize any attempt to stall or fight passively.

lol the facts are what they are Jack attacked thomas on a regular basis and thomas tried to stalk him down not much difference than the sante and Rawlings fight. jack would do his normal blitz lead hand and right cross at which time thomas would hook him and tie him up and not let him get out...Smart on his part...I know , i know jack ran from thomas and Ray did his death neck twist to hurt thompson.

Now that I think about jack should have got at least a half a dozen points for thomas clinching and holding not letting jack out to set back up again. jack would back fist right cross and thomas would hook his arms so jack couldn't angle off and set back up to hit him again. lol... Thank you harley girl for the reminder of the rules . the refs did suck jack should have got the points fo Thomas's holding and clinching. if jack looked like "he was holding on for dear life' if was because thomas wouldn't let go of him..... maybe he likes Jack more than I thought. sorry Mr. Longacre was a gentleman and very repsectful after the fight.. he didn't deserve that last remark...Now harley girl is a different story. lol

Speaking of circling without striking do you see the second guy fight jack ..did he ever move forward. lol

LOL! Sure did need that laugh this morning from "bigj." Something I said must have struck close to home, since "bigj" wants to start slinging remarks about people; so let's go.

Since the fights won't re-air for awhile, all it is right now is one memory against the non-memory of another. So there's not much point in beating a dead horse about who did or didn't do what - it'll only bring out the bad side in some people. Those are the same people who feel the need to throw out derrogatory comments about others who are only stating their opinion, which opinions are the premise of a forum. Those are also the same people who feel the need to throw out curse words on a martial arts forum. Probably not a martial artist, since most martial arts have a high level of self-respect, and respect enough for others to not throw those kind of words out. Anyhoo....

Granted I am a Destroyer's Fan, but there were also a lot of other non-biased people in the crowd that didn't agree to some of the things that happened in favor of the LA Stars. Most importantly I am a "fighter" fan - fan of the fighters who put it on the line, not run around the line....

As far as Douglas Edwards goes, the replacement at 147 lbs., it was his first time in the WCL. In other fighting areas, Edwards is a Muay-Thai kickboxer, and a great one at that. It was also David Taylor's (replacement at 164 lbs) first appearance in the WCL.

lol calm down, just having fun. actually didn't say anything about you and ribbed Thomas a bit nothing like the Thompson b.s. I actually like Longacre. I thought he represented himself and the WCL well on the promo. Jack has been all will always be the underdog and that's frustrating. he stunned thomas, a tough kid with the axe and the lead hand , right cross that you people seem to think has no power behind it because he isn't set when he throws.. even though he's trowing his momentum, weight, hips and upper body strenght into it. Jack was clearly the aggressor he attacked the whole 4 MIN match. Given Jack's style and the energy he uses, was much tougher on him than Longacre. I could of lived with a good match congrats I don't like the style but jack was chased, hung on for dear life please. jack was never stunned or in trouble the whole fight. the cover article has it summed up pretty good. So what do you have to say about ray. Madagan sat there while Ray did the Ali wind up... should Ray have got the passivity. If your not challanged or pressed then it's hard to look got even if you win which was jason's matches. donald who will be our 195 was still playing football so we tried some new fighters as with the heavy's. newton took the match on short notice and I promise you once he's able to train for the WCL people like Baker are likely to see lights out.

quite frankly you may not like the stars style or their attitude (if you knew Jack he is the most quiet and humble of all the fighters). but judging had nothing to do with their wins , they were the most dominant

Harleygirl,

It is not your opinion versus Bigj’s, it is your opinion versus that of Bigj, me, and 3 professional fight judges (not to mention the people sitting in my section). Longacre is a great fighter (as he proved last year), but when you discount Felton’s performance in this fight and question the officiating, it just makes you sound like a sore loser.

I can’t wait to see these two guys fight again (and also to see how one of them fares vs. Connors) as these type of fights are great for the league…

I THINK THAT BOTH OF YOU ARE GREAT FANS OF THE SPORT AND HAVE A REAL GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE FIGHT GAME AND THAT IS AWSOME TO READ YOUR INTERESTING POINTS OF VIEW. AS FAR AS THOMAS LONGACRE GOES HE IS A TRUE WARRIOR BUT IS HAND POWER IS NOT ALL THAT GREAT AND HIS FOOT SPEED IS ABOUT PAR, AND WHEN FIGHTING A GUY LIKE JACK FELTON YOU HAVE TO CUT OFF THE RING AND BE EXPLOSIVE ON THE WAY IN. LONGACRE DEFINITLY DOES NOT WEAR HIS DAMAGE WELL WHEN HE IS HURT IT IS EASY TO SEE AND IF YOUR FAST ON YOUR FEET YOU SHOULD POP IN AND OUT ON HIM ESPCIALLY IF YOUR NOT A POWER STRIKER WHO CAN DRIVE THROUGH HIM. I LIKED JACK FELTONS GAME PLAN IN THAT FIGHT HE FOUGHT SMART, BUT THAT PITTER PATTER STRIKING AND RUN AND GUN TACTIC IS GOING TO HIT A BRICK WALL WHEN HE FACES A BALENCED FIGHTER THAT CAN FIGHT SMART AND CREATE OPPERTUNITIES BY MAKING HIS WORLD REAL SMALL IN THAT RING. THATS WHEN WE'LL SEE IF MR. FELTON HAS A GOOD CHIN OR NOT

THUNDERKICK, I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON THE BATTLE GROUNDS AGAIN. I DO GIVE YOU A LOT OF CREDIT FOR GETTING UP AFTER THAT PUNCH WE WENT TO WAR THAT NIGHT AND THE FANS LOVED IT. IM SURE NEXT TIME WILL BE NO DIFFERENT. BUT I MUST DISAGREE WITH YOU ON THE POINT THAT YOU CANT CUT OFF THAT RING BECAUSE YOU CAN WITH FORWARD PRESSURE AND RANGE ATTACKS. I FEEL VERY GOOD ABOUT THIS SEASON CONSIDERING THE NEW TRAINING I HAVE UNDERTAKEN TO BE EVEN MORE DEVASTATING THIS YEAR , I CANT WAIT TILL THEY LET ME OFF OF THIS LEASH AND ALLOW ME TO DO WHAT I DO BEST. I'M GOING TO MAKE A MESS, OF THE REST OF THE 147 POUNDERS HERE IN THE EAST COAST DIVISION. IRISH OUT
