The WCL needs to look at other organizations such as UFC, boxing and K1. What do all 3 have in common? VEGAS!!! If people can bet on the fights it gets alot more people interested. Think imagine the odds of NY betting LA.
The first thing Dana White did when he purchased the UFC for $2 million was get sactioned in Vegas so people could bet. If people are investing the money into WCL fights in attracts alot of attention. The UFC was recently priced at over $1 billion ($998 million dollar increase in value.)

Also WCL is doing good with Kype because of Turf Wars but they need to Hype Up fights. I want to see the fighters training, personal lifes, etc... UFC did it with an all access show. HYPE UP THE FIGHTS...

One other thing WCL could do is diversify. Have hand selected matches in the mix. Even offer an MMA match, boxing, etc... not saying to do all of these at one event, but through in one MMA match or hand selected match at each show for a "bonus" . Do these and watch the WCL explode!

Another thing to increase ratings is blood...I recently watched the NJ vs OK thats what I like to see. Longacre got cut and I paid more attention... and the Cambell vs Nujikani fight was good to watch because Thad was covered in blood. Maybe its time WCL allows elbows.

Take away some of the rules that hinder Muay Thai, and Karate fighters, maybe even add the ground game, and WCL will be a lot more interesting.

I like the WCL, also a big MMA fan, and I wrestled in HS and College so RPW (RealPro Wrestling) was great in my eyes. But the one thing that the WCL needs is what the IFL was attempting to do and what they do in wrestling. A regular season of team and a post season individual tourney. If you start with all eight starters from each team you could have 3 more shows or only the top 4 fighters chosen could fight and may 2 more shows to finish the season.

The only thing is how do you transfer the team fights into an individual format? Maybe 2 judged rounds and if it is a tie a 3rd round if fought. The 3rd round could even be 1 min or 1 min 30 seconds and have it be like a quick round.

place the top 3 fighters so the final episode would have at least 2 fights.

RealPro Wrestling tried to do this with a mixture of Freestyle, Greco, and Sumo they have the only season on DVD. I am sure you can find it on Ebay or something.

PS no ground fighting because then it would just be MMA, Maybe allowing to strikes out of the clinch or scoring throws to the mat but then standing them back up after the throw would be alright like inf Shootfighting or San Shou (Sanshou)

I like the throws idea. But you would have to limit the number of throws per round per person.

What about like standing grappling stuff? You can get someone in a guillotine choke standing up.

But I think they should atleast allow elbows, and knees.

Full Shootboxing rules- One 3 minute round. Then you can call it standing MMA.

BTW- What I mean by Shootboxing rules is simple.

One 3 minute round or two two minute rounds, like the WCL now, or a bit different.

Throws score points. Knees and elbows are OK, there should be a time limit for idle clinching, but if someone is knocking in a TMA's fighters teeth with a plum clinch it should be legal. Even K-1 has changed its clinch limiting rules to a degree.

A standing submission ends the fight.

A throw or a fall would cause the fight to be restarted on the feet. No groundwork.

B.T.W. - I hear Rogan is a bad arse. And not talking about his years as a T.K.D. Black Belt. But the fact that he is rolling and training with the bad asses of the UFC. Mixed Martial Arts Style.

Go Joe.

Maybe they should start with keeping their website up-to-date.

I think putting on tournaments with WCL style rules for people to enter would increase the fanbase.

Major League Soccer does this with their Futbolito tournaments where soccer teams enter locally to win prizes. WCL may consider hosting tournaments for folks that want to compete that way they build a fan base. Have kids divisions all the way up to adult divisions.
