The WCL should have all star teams for each conference. Choosing the best fighters from each weight class from the west and the east. Chuck, make it happen!

Or maybe have that East vs West fight as a bonus match a month or two after the finals. Then we'd get both events! Cool

Interested to see what everyone would vote on for an All-Star team.

Here is my pick.

West Conference
128 Female Div - Jeri Sitzes / Alicia Ashley
147 Div - Thomas Longacre / Nick Gonzalez (yes I know Felton is not in here)
164 Div - Jason Bourelly / Anthony Njokuani
178 Div - Ray Daniels / David Taylor (move up from 164)
195 Div - Jesse Lawrence / Donald Vickers
235 Div - Eddie Burris / Lawson Baker

East Conference
128 Female Div - Jennifer Santiago / Munah Holland
147 Div - Timmy Connors / Craig Oxley
164 Div - Fernando Calleros / Remy Bonnel
178 Div - Kevin Engel / Crafton Wallace
195 Div - Uriah Hall / Armin Mrkanovic
235 Div - John James / Pat Barry (this is a tough one)

Let the flaming begin....

It's hard to disagree with most of those pics. My only change would be the 178lb reserve in the east. I would put Leo Valdivia in there. But Crafton Wallace is a great fighter too.

but yet was beat by Shannon and KOed by Snyder at the end of the season. Jack is an amazing fighter but his end-of-season performances is what pushed me towards the others.

As for Longacre vs Felton I... That was a very odd fight being the very first fight of the season and having a couple of crazy mishaps in it. So, it was not a very good measuring stick. I was really looking forward to Felton vs Longacre II which would have been the final deciding factor.

So since Jack was not at 100% at the end of the season due to his injury and mental hangups (possibly) on the two losses I went with the others.

The 147 lb division is the most stacked division in the League and they are all amazing fighters separated only by microscopic details. Even Johnson (Denver) showed his abilities at the end of the season.

Like I said Jack is an amazing fighter and 2 months ago he would have got my vote. I hope to see him in Tulsa and back at his full strength.

Plus guys.... I'm thinking in terms of an actual fight between the Conferences not just an award for the season and with Jack's injury you cant really put him in the line-up.

As for Valdivia, that was a tough call as well. He could have easily been swapped with Crafton but Valdivia has just not been consistent enough throughout the season.

If you can’t put Felton in the line-up because of his injury then why did you put Santiago in as a starter, she was hurt almost all season and hurt her back in the last event (I have heard she may not be at the championship)? To put Gonzalez who has a 1-3-1 record and got his butt kicked by Felton in the line-up is just crazy.

If we are looking at fights between the conferences I would:

-Have Sitzes as Ashley’s backup. Ashley is undefeated this season and beat Sitzes 2 out of 3 times this season (one tie).

- Thomas Longacre/Jack Felton – only if we are looking at fights between conferences, overall this season award would have to go to Felton. The East Coast 147lb fighter would have to be Connors or Oxley and with their knockout power Longacre would have a better chance than Felton.

- I agree with Bourelly, Daniels and Lawrence as starters, the back-ups are fine. I don’t think they are even in the same class as the starters though, with the exception of Vickers, I can’t really tell you there because he hasn’t fought enough.

- I think Burris should be Baker’s back-up. Again, this is looking at fights between conferences only, if you look at the whole season Burris would be it, but Baker fought tougher opponents. Burris has shown that he has trouble if he has to go too far into a round.

- I like the East Coast picks with the exception of 128 female division. If you are looking at award for the season I would go with Holland (just for the amazing knockout), if you look at overall WCL performance I would go with Santiago, if you look at fights between conferences I would say Han/Holland. Santiago is hurt so she would be out and Han is a better fighter than Holland. I know, the knockout was insane and hard to get out of your head (or at least mine), but Han was beating Holland handily in that first round until she got KO’d and beat Holland handily the next two times they fought.

Gonzalez's record is a sham...

His first 2 fights against Timmy could have gone either way and probably should have gone the other way. Plus he was an alternate stepping into the combat zone against the League MVP during the last fight of the playoffs and then an overtime fight. Go back and watch that fight and tell me Gonzalez didn't stand toe-to-toe with Timmy and could have easily got the decision. Then tell me if Timmy was in the West would he be starting over Felton. It's a tough call but you guys are not giving Nick near enough credit.

So his only true loss is to Jack who I stated my reasoning before and please remember that it wasn't just Shannon that beat Jack it was the Gonzalez/Hudson combo. Then there is his tie which was against Longacre (who I have starting.)

Records are not everything. Nick Gonzalez is one of the slickest, craftiest fighters in the league and I stick to my guns.

Jack may have come back too soon from that car accident that almost killed him non the less he toasted Nick, beat longacre and the main thing with that is it was before the accident but both loses second round matches and although he may not be 100% nick can't handle him.

nick fights tough and never backs down. he doesn't run away like felton. i saw felton run away like he was scared of getting hit, turning his back to his opponent. nick would never do that!! nick is one of the toughest fighters out there, i don't think anybody in th 147 division can KO him. he has fought pretty much all the best 147's the WCL has to offer and has never backed down. he might have lost a couple fights on points, but i would rather lose trying to knockout my guy than win by running away. i would take heart over skill anyday, and nick has both.
