If they fight again it will or be one of them who beat him. Steven came from point sparring too, he isn't just a kick boxer.

please as far as pointfighting is concerned most of Rick Lee's students would beat him and his wife Nikki would crush as far as that is concerned. bad knees and all I'd take brian plembel from that part of the county in a heads up full contact match.

which means you know I'm right. ... do you even know who rick lee is or nikki lee....brian plembel is as tough of nails and I'm sure they know each other. I don't think Stephen ever met his hype but I know Ray has. I know i've shown steven more respect than Ray t has shown raymond.

Wow! It's honestly amazing that this topic continues after so long. Initially I had no idea who Raymond Daniels was. On the other hand, I've fought on several shows with Stephen, both here and abroad. I consider him a friend and admittedly was naturally biased. However, after meeting and talking to Raymond at the last WCL event I realized what an approachable and genuine person he is. I have to say that both of these guys share many similar characteristics. They're humble and self-effacing but confident all the while. (On a personal, one to one, side, I could see these two being very good friends.) Also, they are both crowd pleasers. Daniels seems to play for the crowd a little more while Stephens stays a little more tuned into the contest. I think Daniels is a bit faster, and far more unpredictable, but Stephen seems a little calmer and more accurate. Agreeably, these two are extremely dangerous for one another. It's unfortunate that we have all the name calling and character bashing that surrounds two awesome guys like this. Maybe it's just the way hype works. I don't know. However, I really do hope these two will eventually have another chance to settle the score. Just a thought.

Fighter 1982 you really need to get your facts straight.... The fact is Ray is 1-0 against Steven. We all know the whole fight didn't play out, and we all hope Steven jumps back in the ring soon. Nick Carlson and Brian Plemple are both incredible fighters, I remember Plemple's ridge hand on my nose at the Diamonds in 2000 like it was yesterday. This guy can do full as well, "bad knee's and all". Both Raymond and Steven are incredibly nice and humble people, great fighters but have different styles and different ways of getting them up for a fight. Make no mistake Raymonds hands down, and it appearing like he's showboating makes him better in the ring. It messes with his opponents heads by showing superiority. There is nothing in the rules that says you can't dance, and smile, and given the fact that he hasn't lost or even been close to a loss yet should tell everyone who dogs him a few things....
. There is nothing in the rules that says you can't dance, and smile, and given the fact that he hasn't lost or even been close to a loss yet should tell everyone who dogs him a few things....
Penalized actions

• No Stalling- Intentionally delaying the action of a contest in any way.
• No Passivity- Retreating or circling without striking - or fighting only when the opponent attacks.

The showboating tends to stall the action quite a bit. I find him very smart in doing this because he hasn't been called on it yet? Probally because the fans love it. It actually gives him time to breath. Raymond likes to circle and backpeddle quite a bit also. He is the best at getting fighters to chase him around the ring. He will stop and fire punches off of this method. Since he is the fastest fighter in his weight class, probally in the WCL, he is able to score and do damage with this method. He is an incredible athelete that comes in shape, so chasing him around and tiring yourself out is not a good way of fighting him. Someone needs to take center of the ring and force Raymond to come in and fight. The problem with this is that the refs will call you for passivity if your not chasing him around. This is a double edge sword that needs to be addressed. When he does the Ali imitation, he always throws a straight right to the face. Hmmm, maybe it is time to cover up and when it hits the back of your gloves kick his legs or fire counter combos? Problem is that it is more easily said than done. I'm glad he is not a heavyweight! Remember, SPEED KILLS!

1982 please, Raymonds ring and outside persona are nothing a like but I know lets see ...I know wonderbread he's just like his dad, leaf doesn't fall far from the tree, he's the type of guy who has to have his sister put it out there for him...I know I'm as good an expert on wonderbread as 1982 is on Raymond.. shall I go on. my position is clear wonderbread has never distanced himself from his dads or his sisters accusations for which i show him the respect he deserves

I love you guys who hide behind monikers. 1982 who are you ... the only thing I can say for RT is he doesn't hide behind some damn moniker

Reminds me of the Liston / Alis days with wonderbread as Liston and Raymond as Ali

Steamroller I do notice the tone and tenor of your posts and it is appreciated. You take issue for Ray showboating and stalling how about taking issue with those in the ring letting him showboat and standing there waiting to get hit. If they weren't in the ring with their eyes closed they'd take off on him when he wound up with the Ali wind up. Please... put a fighter in there that can hang and I guarntee there will be no "stalling". That hasn't happened yet and the ONLY good thing that happened with wonderbreads injury, is he saved himself an embarrassment.

It's a shame that wonderbread didn't and can't step up to the plate and put it out there that it was an unfortunate accident and that he is looking forward to a rematch....I'd love it...then I would retire from all this verbal sparring and just let ithese clowns who need to attack raymond and defend wonderbread, go.

Steamroller I may have let my angst overflow on the part I addressed to you if it is taken that way I apologize that isn't my intent but I am damn tired of the attacks on Raymond just because wonderbread is so clumsy that under pressure can't even stand up under fire.... have a nice day :)

i'm sorry fighter 1982. i dont think you met the same daniels. Cause the Daniels i met in tulsa at the last fights was very nice and very humble. Granted it was a very quick "meet and greet". He still took time out to talk to his fans and meet them and shake their hands. People who have no humility have no time to talk to common people. Daniels acts like that in the ring because thats what the WCL asks for. the wcl asks their team members to taunt the other fighters. And eventhough he acts a donkey he is still one of the most talked about fighters in the wcl..(you are still talking about him). and he has one of the best records. like i told you a long time ago. Step up, gain some weight, and show everyone just how to beat daniels. We all know you can do it Fighter1982. lol..lol....and if that time EVER comes please let me know when and where so i can be there to watch that a** whoopin. I cant wait to watch raymonds sexy self in tulsa again. And he can showboat my way any day HAHA Laughing [/img]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like both fighters; they have very different styles. I feel that Daniels is probably quicker, but that Thompson is a more technical fighters and lands solid hits more consistantly. Also, Daniels has a tendancy to show-off a bit during matchs: dancing around, dropping his gaurd, mild taunts, etc. It makes him fun to watch - he really stands on in a match more than others do and you never know what he'll do next. But to that end, I think it will catch up with him eventually - one of these days I expect Daniels to get hit right on the chin when he is dancing around the ring. And I think Thompson is the guy that could deliver it. Of course I did notice in that Thompson v Daniels match last season that Daniels wasn't being as flashy as normal so maybe he knows better than that when against someone like Thomspon.

Of course we can talk all day about who can beat who, but the fact is that it can be settled in the pit. I just want to know if we (the fans) are going to get a chance see that rematch! Anyone keep in touch with the Wonderboy?

Bigj ... The topic I believe was on Stephen Thompson, not his father. If you want to make it personal and you know Ray, THEN CALL HIM UP!! Tell him about it, WE dont care about your relationship with Thompsons dad. stephen Is a great Fighter. Why not give credit where it is due. If I can remember correctly BOTH cames came in the finals UNDEFEATED! They both are great fighteres!! You cant win them ALL and someone has to lose. The cards didnt fall his way that night. they both were respectful of each other and I think they both looked like SHIT that night. Neither one of them were could hit each other. Thomson out od Deperation did something unorthodox from his style. Thats why he messed up his knee. COME ON ADMIT IT, THAT FIGHT BETWEEN DANIELS AND THOMPSON WAS THE UGLIEST 30 SECONDS OF WCL I HAVE SEEN BETWEEN TWO supposedly GREAT FIGHTERS!!!!!!!! ( indeed they are two great fighters, but neither of them showed up, that night. They fought like two sissy's.

Thompson may be a great fighter... but he is not in the league anymore. Why don't we talk about fighters who are actually in the league and this year's action?
