Does anyone know if Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson plans to return to the WCL for the 2008/2009 Season? I saw the match where he injured his leg and his coach said he might return after a season out. Anyone got the scoop on his recovery? _________________ -Valiss |

This is one of those times where I wish we weren't or wish it wasn't known that Ray and I are close... I have my thoughts on this one. |

no he wouldn't, thompson has perfect timing, perfect distance. Has plenty of power, And he knew how to beat him He just happend to hurt his knee in the process ( Yes I believe he hurt his own knee, and don't agree with the cover up thompson scandel over the loss) . He isn't scarred of him like a lot of the fighters Daniles has beaten There beat before they even enter the ring. Daniels is human EVERY BODY CAN BE BEAT!!! |

Agreed that Thompson is a very talented and powerful fighter, but I think Daniels' speed would be too much for him... |

speed is nothing if you have perfect timing man. Daniels hasn't been able to show his timing yet. Also Daniels is a great fighter and the best right now in wcl, but everybody waits on him and he is too fast to wait on. He is the type of guy u have to fight like hollyfield beat tyson, he stayed inside his power and speed and Tyson didn't know what to do, no one has ever done that to him before hollyfield. |

I like both fighters; they have very different styles. I feel that Daniels is probably quicker, but that Thompson is a more technical fighters and lands solid hits more consistantly. Also, Daniels has a tendancy to show-off a bit during matchs: dancing around, dropping his gaurd, mild taunts, etc. It makes him fun to watch - he really stands on in a match more than others do and you never know what he'll do next. But to that end, I think it will catch up with him eventually - one of these days I expect Daniels to get hit right on the chin when he is dancing around the ring. And I think Thompson is the guy that could deliver it. Of course I did notice in that Thompson v Daniels match last season that Daniels wasn't being as flashy as normal so maybe he knows better than that when against someone like Thomspon.
Of course we can talk all day about who can beat who, but the fact is that it can be settled in the pit. I just want to know if we (the fans) are going to get a chance see that rematch! Anyone keep in touch with the Wonderboy? _________________ -Valiss |

Finally some one on here with some sence. I guess I may have made that sound like that I thought he could just run over daniels, I don't think he could unless he stunned him. Your right I did notice at that fight before his accident, daniels did have respect for him. But as you said I guess we just have to see the rematch, But one of them will have to switch divisons. |

When I watch someone like Daniels, I can see his explosive power, but sometimes it looks like he's just throwing the technique without regard to what his opponent is doing. That can it look like a certian hit was lucky, though I don't really belive in a "lucky punch/kick". What bugs me though is his punching - or lack thereof. Not only does he rarely punch, but his punches look quick and powerless - like something that you would do in a point-fighting match. Is his background in point-fighting? I think Daniels would benefit a lot from working with a boxing coach for a few months to build up that portion of his skillset. To that ends, Thompson looks like a more rounded fighter.
Bigj, so you obvious seem to know what's up with the Thompson camp. Is Stephen's dad still coaching in the WCL? Do you think that Stephen won't be back after he gets healed? Will he compete again in the WCL? I'd hate to hear that his match with Danels ended his professional career. _________________ -Valiss |

Actually dip sh*t, I din't say he didn't have timing. I said thompson IS A LOT BETTER. Daniels is faster, But if you have BETTER timing then its harder to get hit or if you do its not as powerful as could have been cause of the block. So get up from under that desk with Daniels and remove your mouth from him. Unless this is Daniels. |

BigJack, don't be silly. Just because you dislike his fans and father doesn't mean you should dislike or bad-mouth a stand up young man like Stephen. Stephen has plenty of courage and class and has never said anything bad about you or Raymond. I know your relationship with Raymond and your constant need to protect Raymond and his reputation. I know this is a sore subject for you, and would probally be better off left alone. Sometimes when you mean to do Ray justice, you instead make him look bad. So stop with the BS please. If Stephen and Raymond fight again, it will be great for the sport. If Stephen comes back healthy, it will also be great for the sport. You know this, and so does anyone with any knowledge of the the fight game. _________________ Steamroller by definition: A crushing force especially when ruthlessly applied to overcome opposition.
