The Miami Force came into Atlantic city Saturday nite with one thing in mind.......revenge! Wow, did they ever get it. The "Bosnian Prince" looked as unstoppable as ever while putting the "Dream Killer" to sleep! The "Mingo Warrior" put it on the "Fight Girl" so bad she couldn't make it out for the 2nd half. Remy Bonnel came out strong in the 2nd half with a KO of his own. The alternate for Miami at 178lb came into and picked apart Engel. The fight of the nite had to be Craig "The Hammer" Oxley and Timmy "Irish Pride" Connors. Oxley, after getting knocked down by a Connors right hook showed the HEART of a WARRIOR by getting back up and sending the shots heard around the WCL, a left cross and right hook combo that put the WCL poster boy out for the count!!! That fight was what the WCL is all about, full throttle action, drama and KO's! The Force looks like the team to beat in the eastern conference, can't wait to see how this season unfolds!

Sounds like an exciting event. Can't wait to see the show on Versus. Anyone know when the new season will start airing?

Congrats to all the fighters from both teams.

The event was great!!! All fighters put on a great show, the crowd was into it and I know that everyone involved with the WCL had to be proud of all of their combat martial artist.
Yeah, Connor's was KO'd it was it looked pretty bad. I lookforward to seeing that fight again!

I have been following the WCL for some time now. I think Oxley was the same one who KO'd Bourelly but was on LA Stars. WOW!! Two impressive Knockouts to TWO Unexpected fighters!

I watched this one at the Taj Majal on Saturday night. WHAT AN AWESOME SHOW!! Better than seeing it on TV. Miami had a strong team. Remy from France went through his opponents like it was another day at the office. Armin The Bosnian Prince was on the TOP of his game as he EXPLODED through his opponents with ease. Angie The MINGO WARRIOR took the fight out of Felice the star from Fight Girls, Diomande from St. Louis surprisingly came back and KO'd Stines (Heavy weight) and THE FIGHT OF THE NIGHT Craig The Hammer Oxley after recovering from a knockdown by Connors got up and gave Connors a taste of his own medicine. A left by Oxley hit Connors so hard that his mouthpiece flew out of his mouth with his head going one way then BOOM, the right sent Connors to the Canvas. I was shocked. The Irish Pride didnt recover.

I am looking for great things from Oxley and this new Miami Team. Cant wait to see it again on the tube and cant wait to see the HAMMER in action! Congrats to all the teams, fights like these will keep you coming back for more!!

How did Oxley do against Connor's alternate, John Greubel?

Gruebel beat Oxley 15-11 (could have been 15-9 I can't remember). He won handily.

He beat him handily??? You must not have been at the fights, Oxley hurt him numerous times. You could hear his coaches telling him to lay off and move, not to go in for the finish. Its a team sport and Oxley did what was best for his team.

I am not trying to guess what Oxley's strategy was in the fight, only saying that Gruebel won the second half fight. By handily, I meant the score was not close, it was 15-9 or 15-11, not something like 14-13.

Thanks jmm. Southpaw, Oxley's coaches were heard asking to him to lay off of Greubel, not to finish him? That sounds absurd.

Since Oxley knocked out Connors and Greubel defeated Oxley (according to southpaw due to coaching strategy - lol. Thanks for taking a loss for the team Oxley!!), I'm wondering if Greubel might get picked as the starter and Connors get relegated to alternate for the next match. Anyone think that will happen?

I doubt it. I'm sure Oxley left his best out there in the first round. He was knocked down and came back and then rested I'm sure whatever adrenaline he had was left in the locker room. It 's really hard to face a fresh new fighter when you gave it you all to survive the first round.

Good point. You're probably right. Nevertheless, At some point I think Greubel will start.

You want to talk about absurd.....Greubel should start in front of Tim Connors, what are you NUTS??? That sounds like a statement an arm chair QB would make. Connors was undefeated until this match and you think he should be replaced by an unproven fighter??? That is just plain disrespectful to the MVP of this league. You might not respect the talents of Oxley (even though that's the second poster boy he has KO'ed) but to say Connors should be replaced because of one loss is just CRAZY talk. You know Connors will come back like any warrior would, with a vengeance....I feel sorry for his next opponent.

It's disrespectful to Oxley, his manager, Greubel and the league to say Oxley relaxed and threw the fight against Greubel. It's not disrespectful to Connors to ask the question about potential future replacement. Connors is undefeated in the WCL. Greubel is undefeated - period (AKB 21-0-1/4, AB: 1-0/0). He's a new pro and new to the WCL but hardly unproven. He is IMO, starter caliber. He did defeat Oxley who as you said has beaten two poster boys. I'd say that's taking a good first step to proving himself in the WCL.

Connors began the season as the starter because he was undefeated and he was last years poster boy. He earned the stating role so he didn't have a "fight-off" with Greubel when starting and alternate positions were determined.

No matter who you are and what you've done in the past, getting knocked may start to open the door for a replacement. It won't happen right away but if another KO happens again or he gets beat again sometime soon, Finney may have to determine whether or not the teams best chances of winning are with Connors or Greubel. it is a team sport.

Greubel may be the guy who'll give Felton a run for his money. Felton is probably the most improved and with Connors KO, probably has the best chance of staying undefeated. Felton against either of them would be fun!

WOW! Mark Martin- You must be Gruebels father or coach. I agree with the other guy. Tim Connors was undefeated and you give no credit to Oxley. That was the fight of the night. How tired both fighters must have been. Whos Grubel?? Hes new, maybe undefeated(Not in WCL). But that doesnt mean anything. What did Oxley have to prove with....whats that guys name again. Lucky for Gruebel, Oxley didnt fight him first. I was there, Miami was up over 15 points. Oxley had the cushion, had the score been close...."GOOD NIGHT GRUEBEL," would have hit the canvas!!
